Durante décadas actuamos como tres estados aislados, ignorando que la fuerza de la Península de Yucatán está en su integración. Hoy, el aeropuerto de Cancún conecta más rutas internacionales que varias capitales de América Latina. Su ubicación lo hace logísticamente equidistante a cualquier punto de Yucatán, Campeche o Quintana Roo. Lo mismo ocurre con el Puerto de Progreso, suficiente y estratégico para abastecer a toda la región y proyectarse hacia el Caribe y Centroamérica.
Si dejamos de competir entre nosotros y comenzamos a cooperar con visión peninsular, podríamos convertirnos en el gran hub de abasto, servicios y logística para el Caribe y Centroamérica, sustituir a EE. UU. y Europa como principales proveedores de esas regiones.
Con Campeche como potencia energética, agrícola y ganadera; Yucatán como eje industrial-marítimo; y Quintana Roo como un gran centro centro de consumo, proveedor de servicios, lider en logística aérea, apuntalando a que lo sea en férrea y terrestre, así como desarrollar la industria ligera, podemos llegar más lejos de lo que jamás imaginamos.
Es momento de seducir al futuro con inteligencia regional. La oportunidad no es local, es peninsular.

For decades, we have acted as three isolated states, ignoring that the strength of the Yucatán Peninsula lies in its integration. Today, the Cancun airport connects more international routes than several capitals in Latin America. Its location makes it logistically equidistant to any point in Yucatán, Campeche, or Quintana Roo. The same goes for the Port of Progreso, sufficient and strategic to supply the entire region and project towards the Caribbean and Central America.
If we stop competing among ourselves and start cooperating with a peninsular vision, we could become the major hub for supply, services, and logistics for the Caribbean and Central America, replacing the United States and Europe as the main suppliers to those regions.
With Campeche as an energy, agricultural, and livestock powerhouse; Yucatán as an industrial-maritime hub; and Quintana Roo as a major consumption center, service provider, leader in air logistics, aiming to do the same in rail and land logistics, as well as developing light industry, we can go further than we ever imagined.
It is time to seduce the future with regional intelligence. The opportunity is not local, it is peninsular.
