La revista musical Rolling Stone ha publicado una lista con las 100 mejores sencillos debut de la historia; encabezada por la Britney Spears.
“La lista que hemos formado está muy inclinada hacia aquellos singles que se convirtieron en los cimientos de grandes carreras, aunque hay un par de artistas de un solo éxito también”, explicó la revista.
En el número 1 de esta lista han colocado a ...Baby One More Time, la canción con la que el mundo conoció a Britney Spears hace ya 20 años.
El segundo puesto es para los Jackson 5 y su tema I Want You Back, del que asegura la publicación que “no solo definió los años 70, sino que ha resumido la esencia de la alegría musical desde entonces”.
Sex Pistols y su Anarchy in the U.K. se llevan el bronce en esta lista como “una excavadora que se acerca a ti” o “como si Lucifer hubiera ascendido a los infiernos. A las puertas de ese top 3 se queda Run-D.M.C y la canción Sucker M.C’s/ It’s Like That, una melodía “explosiva” que llevó a la calle al hip-hop que se hacía en locales sin gran repercusión.
En el número 5 se encuentra Maybellene de Chuck Berry, que clasifica como el “himno fundador del rock & roll”. También están presentes Radio Free Europe, de R.E.M.; Good Times Bad Times, de Led Zeppelin; That’s All Right, de Elvis Presley; Blitzkrieg Bop, de The Ramones; y Hand in Glove, de he Smiths.
También están representados otros grandes mitos como The Eagles con Take it Easy, The Beatles con Love Me Do, Prince con Soft and Wet, Pearl Jam con Alive, The Doors con Break on Through (to the Other Side), Metallica con Whiplash, Pink Floyd con Arnold Layne, Dire Straits con Sultans of Swing, o Madonna con Everybody.
